What is the significance of the letter codes on the Seeburg TSA1 amps? How does a code A or B for example differ from say a code F? Do the codes have to match when replacing the amp?

Can anyone tell me why these needles are sooooo expensive? The older mono needles and the later wedge stereo needles are sooo much cheaper. I could see it if the T's were only used on a couple of models, but they were used in 4-5 models. Thanks, Rick.
