Default Sheaffer Nostalgia

Hi All,
Just picked up a very nice "older" vermeil Nostalgia.
Can anyone tell me what year these were offered, and what nib is
correct?
Of the two left in the tray, one had a yellow 14k nib, and the other a
two-tone 18k.
Thanks much,
Pelikanyo Paul (who likes a Sheaffer or two)

In 1996 in this NG Allan Tischler described his experiences with the 14K
and 18K nibs and related the Sheaffer rep's explanation. That thread is
still in the Google archives. I have provided a link below but it's a
long one, so watch out if your newsreader does line wraps.

I can't be sure, but A. Lambrou in "Fountain Pens: Vintage and Modern"
writes that it was announced in 1970, and Jim M at his penhero site says
that introduction was the same year. I do not know how long those pens
remained in production or how many of each type were made. Sorry I
couldn't be of more assistance; maybe someone else can.

I researched this a bit and came up with the same date... for the silver
version. I could not find any information for the vermeil version.
Perhaps someone like Sherrell Tyree (www.ink-pen.com) would know.
Paul... drop Sherrell an e-mail through the Ink-Pen website. She knows
Sheaffers and will probably be able to answer your question. -- Bern
