Default Pelikan Roller Refills

Does any other brand of rollerball refill fit a Pelika rollerball pen?
The refills have gotten to be very expensive ($6 at my local shop).

Thanks.

Pilot G-2 gel refills fit in a Pelikan rollerball pen. I read about it
somewhere a few years ago (probably this newsgoup). By the way they also fit
Waterman, Namiki, and 1 or 2 other brands of rollerball pens.

The one glitch with use in the Pelikan pens is the tip of the refill is just
a bit too wide to fit the Pelikan opening. The suggestion given was to
carefully widen the opening of the pen using a drill bit that just fits the
opening.

I recently found a new brand of gel pens, the refills also fit the above
rollerball pens. The tip seems narrower than Pilot refills,
so they may fit without altering your pen. They are the "Pentel Energel
Retractable Pens".

I don't know about the ink in the Pentel Energels but the Pentel Hybrid Gels
have a permanent, waterproof, archival-quality ink. The Pilot G-2 isn't.
