Default Macao Cancel Of Hong Kong Stamp - Revisited (With Scan)

Howdy do -

Just wanted to post a scan of that Hong Kong with Macao cancel.
Apparently, this is the 1st "version" of the canceller given to Macao
postmasters after the British left the mail duties to the Portuguese.

The 2nd cancel of its type was "MACAO". this I have learned from
another collector, since the topic was brought up.

Definitely doesn't look like a receiving cancel to me!

Thanks for the help you all have given on this.

Well Tracy, let me stick another needle in your effegy.....I think
someone might have made their own cancel device. Rubber stamps are very
easy to make and also very cheap. :-)

Always causing me grief, Ralph! Sheesh, even passing you in the halls
of the main PO in SNA, and a wind breaks out that you wouldn't
believe...

But, having read a serious report on the subject matter, it may look
like the real deal. Wouldn't a forger want a true S.O.N.? Maybe
not... but then, they'd be looking like CTOs.

Ralphael, the OLD one.

But not forgotten!
