Nice gesture ;-)
"Canada Post announced today it will correct the image of the historic
Pachena Point lighthouse on Vancouver Island that had been flipped in a
recently released stamp series."

See the site at Google Earth or such

Egad they're right! It is wrong, left should be right, heads should roll.

No road access - just a helicopter pad. A wild bit of BC.

In NZ all the lighthouses have been unmanned for years (or unwomaned - the
first light keeper in NZ was a woman). Most of the old keepers houses have
gone and the modern providers are often happy with a low mounted light. As a
consequence there are few houses left and some of the unused towers are not
being maintained adequately. Does anyone do any better with their heritage?

No, here in Holland as well the direction we're going is unmanned.
There was a bit of an uproar 3 years ago about that when a (the last?)
lighthouse in the north of the country was 'decapitated' , with the argument
that spotting ships in distress would no longer be possible.
