Default Musty book smell treatment?

is there a way to reduce or eliminate book smell? i only have a couple

that
are affected, so can't justify special chemicals or other material.

True "book smell" would be of (dry) paper and
its case (especially if new and of leather.) If you
may mean the musty smell associated with
damage by damp and mildew, the only cure is
to air the book on dry days (shaded from direct
sunlight.)
