Default charter for this group-buying/selling WELCOME

The purpose of alt.collecting.8-track-tapes is to provide a gathering
place for the widely scattered 8-track-tape collectors on the net. In
addition to serving as a focal point, this newsgroup will (1)
facilitate
activities such as buying/selling/trading 8-track tapes and playback
equipment; (2) help collectors find new sources of tapes and players
in
the face of an ever-dwindling supply; and (3) provide a place to
discusss 8-tracking in the 1990s, including recent 8-track releases
by
independent record labels.. Finally, the newsgroup will be a forum
for
the various philosophies engendered by the hobby (e.g., analog
vs. digital sound).

Speaking of spam...I purchased a tin of SPAM a several weeks
back. Probably for the first time in my life. I had it at friend's homes a
time or two as a lad but never at my place. I remembered it as being not as
good as ham or baloney, but had it with eggs for breakfast at a rundown
diner once and remembered that as being somewhat tasty. That memory is what
prompted me to pick up a can and fry up some eggs and hash browns. It was
okay. I tried a slice the next day on a sandwich. Um, I dunno. Anyway, I was
looking through the fridge the other day and there was the remainder of the
chunk wrapped in saran just as I left it. It looked pretty gross and even
more so when I imagined it in my bloodstream. I sent it off to Day 5 On The
Garbage Cycle.

Just as bologna and other sausage creations come from otherwise
unusable beef, Spam is comprised of "pig parts"...even the ones you
ordinarily would not ever consider devouring in a meal, including a
fairly bountiful lot of the fat. One would think Canadian bacon a
better choice, eh? Down here anymore, "bacon" refers to slabs of fat
marbled with a little pork here and there. The last time I tried
sizzling some in a pan, the noxious odor forced an early retreat.

I wouldn't feed Spam to my dog, especially now that he's battling
lymphoma, and doing a pretty fair job of it, too...although the
treatments and time being in hospital have impacted my finances to the
negative. However, he's more than worth it to me. Odd, say some,
that I wouldn't spend a farthing trying to rescue certain humans from
the same disease...and I'm not simply referring to Fred "Bad Actor"
Thompson, either.

spam is nasty stuff- it's a ball of meat by-products held together by
grease, and swedged into a block and canned

just like hot dogs- read the label- "beef and pork by products"- i.e.
tongues, ears, hooves tails, eyeballs, lips

the only thing they throw away is the moo and the squeal

if you eat spam, best a once-a-year thing, and WELL DONE fried or grilled,
to remove most of the fats from it

A fine description of strip bacon there Bob. I have ignored
this product for about the last 20 years. Too salty, too fatty. I would
rather pay the premium for the back bacon or pea meal bacon. Or a locally
produced and smoked good tasting sausage. The fattiest bacon I came across
was bacon from Denmark that came in a can. It looked like you had merely
bought a tin of lard till you dug around a bit. The best meat accompaniment
to breakfast eggs around these parts is smoked goldeye, a local fish that I
find beats the pants off the salmon. The goldeye....unbeatable smoked,
inedible fried!

Interesting notion. The facts remain- it was DeserTBob who over-reacted to
an alignment tape, that he was allowed to return, and which he received a
full refund for. DeserTBob then went on a 3+ year flame war/smear campaign
against the seller, (after DeserTBob received/cashed the refund check)- this
led to (2) of DeserTBob's Ebay usernames being banned for auction
harassment. And so DeserTBob continues this malarchy and nonsense, to this
day, in this NG.

One can ponder, why didn't DeserTBob just accept his refund, and walk away
like any other sane person ?? One fella from Arizona offered this reason-
"DeserTBob is cracked".

OVERREACTED is a single word.

to
an alignment tape snip

....a fraudulent, useless homemade dupe of a not-so-good original.

, that he was allowed to return, snip

"Allowed?" You try to perpetrate a fraud with an illegal "outside
sale" of an eBay item and you "allow" people to return your fake
garbage for a "refund?" You're lucky I didn't press legal action with
the DA of Luzerne County at the time, or nail you with mail fraud
charges through the Postal Inspector's Office...which I found out were
quite actionable.

and which he received a
full refund for.snip

Ending a sentence in a preposition is a sign of bad education and/or
low IQ.

Regarding the "refund," the facts are clear, and the evidence clearly
exists.

1.) After I complained that your tape was a blatant fake, you told me
"these things happen" and to return the fake tape at my cost to your
Drums, PA address. I was smart enough, after being ripped off by you
for a really bad copy of "So Wrong, They're Right" to match the two
addresses and find that both "coolsitesnsounds" and "66fourdoor" were
indeed one and the same fraudster, Charlie Nudo of Drums, PA. I
wisely added Delivery Confirmation to the postage.

2.) Weeks after the tape arrived AT YOUR RESIDENCE, you told me "no
tape, no refund" after I again demanded a refund check. When I
produced the Delivery Confirmation evidence, your story changed
immediately and you sent a personal check (of which I have a scan) for
$40, on which you then threatened in this newsgroup to stop payment.

3.) The sale of this tape was in violation of eBay's stated policies,
in that you wrote me after I lost the auction, saying that you had "a
lot of these tapes around" and that I "could have one for $40." What
a deal! A ripoff, fake copy of a worn out Radio Shack cartridge, of a
not-to-good original, which I later tested and found to be completely
useless for purposes of head alignment on 8 track cart machines.
Selling auction items outside of eBay during an auction is a violation
of eBay Terms of Service, and your account was suspended for awhile
not long after...one of several times.

4.) You also engaged in illegal duplication and sale of copies of
Russ Fortster's mini documentary film, "So Wrong, They're Right," for
which your "coolsitesnsounds" account was terminated on eBay. The
crappy copy I got was dubbed onto a worn out rental VHS cassette from
which you peeled off the labels and stuck your own ridiculous,
typewritten label. The tape was unacceptably full of dropouts and was
of poor quality, due to being done on a machine with worn out heads.

5.) You engaged in illegal copying of Q8 cartridges, for which you
got a warning and another account shutdown.

All of this is well documented to the point of being common public
knowledge, and I have your emails, complete with headers and ID and IP
numbers, to prove your statements.

And so DeserTBob continues this malarchy and nonsense, to this
day, in this NG. snip

And will until you're gone for good.

One can ponder, why didn't DeserTBob just accept his refund, and walk away
like any other sane person ?? One fella from Arizona offered this reason-
"DeserTBob is cracked". snip

Another "mouse in your pocket," Noodles? Funny how all your Usenet
"friends" don't seem to last very long, but your enemies abound. If
anyone's "cracked" around here, it's you, as well as your being a
proven petty criminal and thief. That's not a "smear"
campaign...that's the truth. Your other problems, exhibited by your
political and religious insanity, are all over Usenet, should anyone
want to evaluate your mental instability.

Charlie Nudo
Drums, PA
"66-catalina" on eBay
....a fraudster to avoid.
