found in change -- good + bad news

Went to the stamp vending machine at 100 N Riverside in Chicago to buy
some stamps today.

The bad news: some vandal has been swiping my sackies! Put in $20.50 to
buy a $7.40 stamp book and I got 13 dollars coins, of which one and only
one was a sackie. Rest were misc SBAs. Darn you, sackie thief, darn
you all to heck!

The good news: received one boring nickel and one 2000 S proof nickel, a
little bit worse the wear for having been through circulation, but none
the less a nice find. It's funny how those mirror surfaces stick out
amongst all those boring regular circulation coins. It was definitely a
doubletake day.

Oh, and PS, way OT, but the cop failed to show up in court today so I
got out of a very embarrasing moment. Yay for me.
