WHY do you continue to mischaracterize Frank Provasek as a spammer. He admitted that he emails people who dont ask for his email. That's a spammer. If guilty of anything, he was only working his customer list. Of which he has written or proof of consent to email them, right? And that is no crime, its the American way. Its considered crime in 25 states. It will soon be considered a crime in ALL of the US come jan 1. |

Ignore them and keep up the excellent work providing your high quality coins to your many satisfied customers. Are you one of his bid shilling partners? Bill Yates is a nationally known dealer in Early American Copper. You show your ignorance by even asking this question. And you are what? His bend over buddy? Lover? Brother in law/ Oh wait, you must be his incest borne brother. What makes you think any one cares of what Bill Yates does.... |

This is the first time I ever heard of a show NOT having a deadline for
regulars who sold their tables without asking them 2 mos in advance of the show. Biggest shows are the most careful about that, but I think Rockford just got carried away in it's enthusiasm for a sell out. Dondi3 Is it possible the event planner is a newbie and he just didn't know any better? If that is the case, by next year he may have been tutored by the feedback on this one. Regards, Tom |

Of course, if you read the whole thread everytime, bottom posting is preferred. But I would think that almost no one reads the whole thread everytime. They scroll to the bottom of each message in the thread. Seems a waste of time to me. There are times when top posting is the best way to respond to a question or a thread especially when you're replying to the thread as a whole. But nothing wastes bandwidth more than complaining about a top-posted message. Any intelligent person usually can follow the train. http://www.allmyfaqs.com/faq.pl?How_to_post This and the previous argument are among the lamest arguments I've ever read. I think he hit it right on the head with the statement, "This may sound as a weak argument ..." It does and it is. As if his buddy Dorman weren't doing enough to keep these threads alive, Frank
feels the need to dredge up a response I made 12 days ago and say: I have won a number of Bill Yate's auctions, Phil. But again, honesty is not your bag. Let's see Frank, I said, "Bull....and I see Frank is back bidding in your auctions without any success....but, that's the point, isn't it?" Given that since your reinstatement you have bid in 6 of his auctions and won exactly 0, how was I being dishonest? As far as past auctions go, Mr. Yates has received 2056 feedbacks dating back to March of 1998. Out of all of those feedbacks, exactly two were from you....one from 4-1/2 months ago and another from about 18 months ago. During that same period of time Mr. Yates has left 2377 feedbacks about others. Of those, exactly two were left for you....for the very same transactions. Now, while "2" is a number, calling "2" wins in the 2-1/2 years that you have had your own account "a number of wins" might be considered stretching the truth. Should I be questioning your honesty? How many dozens (hundreds???) of his auctions did you have to bid in to amass those "2" wins? ++++++++++ Phil DeMayo - always here for my fellow Stooge When bidding online always sit on your helmet Just say NO to counterfeits |

"Richard L. Hall" wrote in message ink.net... "McWebber" wrote in message ... "Frank Provasek" wrote in message .com... Top posting is preferred, by the clueless. "Any fool can make a rule. And other fools will heed it." H. D. Thoreau But its been around since usenet was formed, so you have no say if it was made by fools. Since those "fools" were the ones who probably created usenet, they are, in my book, fools to follow. http://www.dickalba.demon.co.uk/usen.../faq_topp.html And this says, "But if you place all your comments at the top, the reader has to scroll down the page and hunt to see what it is you are replying to. " So you prefer to have to scroll to the bottom everytime rather than the few times that you lose the train of the thread or the train is missing. If you read it carefully, you will also learn to trim and reply to sections of posts as you are doing and I am doing. Top posting is for the lazy who dont give a damn about not replying directly to comments posted to them, and leave all the text of original message that they aren't replying or directing comments to, in hence WASTING bandwidth. Of course, if you read the whole thread everytime, bottom posting is preferred. But I would think that almost no one reads the whole thread everytime. They scroll to the bottom of each message in the thread. Seems a waste of time to me. Seems that you dont understand the nature of usenet. The reason "bottom posting' is preferred is because not all news servers in the world will propogate a thread. That means the context of a thread can be lost and top posting comments can be read without understanding why it the post was posted. The start of a thread could be lost due to server issues, or because some news servers check for spammers and dump those articles that are considered spam to them. There are times when top posting is the best way to respond to a question or a thread especially when you're replying to the thread as a whole. Never, unless its email. Usenet is not email. But nothing wastes bandwidth more than complaining about a top-posted message. Any intelligent person usually can follow the train. Nothing wastes bandwidths more are top posting morons who leave the entire text of what they are replying to without referencing what they are replying to. If you plan on top=posting, dont bother to include any of hte original text your are replying to. There is no sense. By the way richard, Standard sig line are only 4 lines lines in length. You are in violation of Usenet RFC's for having it longer than that. -- Richard ANA# R-176949 http://home.netcom.com/~richlh |
