Default ANA election rumors?

I finally got my ballot after calling in 3 times to the CPA firm. I wonder
if the slow mail (not 1st class) was a play to keep folks from voting? I got
mine in, I just hope the count is honest! Anyone hear anything whether the
current band of brothers was voted out? I wish they'd report the count on
Stuppler and Finner to see how few votes they really got!

Results should be known sometime in the coming week or so from what I
understand. Probably will be first announced on
the ANA website.

I just spent much of the afternoon at a local koin klub
picnic which also had ANA gubbernor Michael S. ("Stan")
Turrini in attendance.

(For those of you not familiar with the events, Brother
Stan recently replaced gubbernor Brian Fanton, who
resigned earlier this year after having been elevated to
the Board to replace the ousted gubbernor Walt Ostromecki
almost two years ago ...).

(Stan did not run in the recent election, so his term
will expire at the ANA Convention in Milwaukee next
month, meaning his service will have been almost exactly
two months ...)

ANYWAY, he stated that he had not yet been informed of
the results of the recent elections, and expected to
hear them after a conference call next week, presumably
informing the candidates which ones won and which ones
didn't ...

FWIW, the ANA bylaws state that votes for uncontested
offices will not be tabulated, so we'll never know how
many abstentions there were for the Prez and Veep ...

Stan Turrini would be the best thing to happen to ANA leadership in many
many years. He has been at the forefront of quite a few of the coin clubs
in the SF Bay Area for a long time, I can remember even when I was a snot
nose teenager, that he was very enthusiastic about the hobby, and making it
interesting. If you doubt me, get him started on the 1946 Iowa Half
Commemorative!

I can tell you that he personally is responsible for keeping the Diablo
Numismatic Society in Contra Costa County going, as well as the Vallejo Coin
Club.

Not only would I vote for him, I would even campaign for him.
