What really surprises me is the lack of a stamp
featuring Curling - from Ireland! It's almost the
national sport there!

David.

David:

I think you mean SCOTLAND. ;-)

You can tell the Scots that they are Irish
(after I leave town please...)

Blair

Maybe... but my Auntie Maude is Irish, and in
the Roscommon Curling Team!

Hello Ame:

Forget what the jokers say. I say
"Why not collect stamps with curling pictured?"

Fortunately this will not be a expensive collection
to complete since this sport isn't a common topic on stamps yet.

Here is a list for you. (There may be some I didn't catch)

France, 1992 2.50 + 0.20 francs

........

I hope that this is helpful.

Hello Blair,

Congratulations for your findings !
A very small addition regarding this French stamp on curling.

It was first issued one year before the Olympyc Games in Albertville (on
april 22 1991) in panes of 50 (Yvert # 2680, Dallay 2717).
(sorry I don't have my Scott cat. with me)

Then re-issued in leaflets of 10 different stamps (during the Olympyc
Games) on feb 8, 1992 ( Yvert 2680a, Dallay 2717a)

The 1992 stamps are on a whiter and glossy paper.

It never caught on...

Nobody wanted the free Curling Stone with every sheet!

What are your 2 curling stamps?

I would like to add them to the list.

Blair

Blair,

One of them is the 1988 Canadian 37-cent stamp that has already been
mentioned. The other is a Cambodian stamp. I don't recall the Scott
number, but I bought it in an APS circuit.

Ame
