Default I am a jukebox idiot, advice wanted

Here's the story. I used to collect jukeboxes and was even OK at
fixing them up. About 10 years ago I moved and had to put most of them
down in the basement meaning to get them fixed up and running.

You can guess the rest, my "real" job became time-consuming and I
picked up other hobbies, so the jukeboxes have basically sat in the
basement. Most have not been plugged in since I moved here. Please
no lectures, I know jukes are built to be played and suffer when not
used.

Anyway, I have finally realized I am never going to get at them and
what I'd like to do is ind a way to get them out and just get one
reliable jukebox I can enjoy. I've always liked 1100's, 1015's,
1050's etc.

Any advice on the best way to accomplish this? Consign them to
somebody for the Chicago show maybe? Work out a trade? Look for a
european buyer?

anyway, here they are, all essentially complete but of varying grades:

Rockola Super-Rocket (1434)
Rockola 1454
Wurlitzer 1400
Seeburg B
Seeburg Symphanola Classic

Also have a 161 that is playing and a NSM Consul that I'll probably
keep unless somebody has a burning desire for them.

Will listen to any suggestions, thanks in advance. You can e-mail me
at (remove the NOSPAM obviously) if you like.
I am in Eastern Iowa.

Hi Randy!
I think that your problem might be that if you sold all of the jukes listed
in "as-is" condition, I don't think that you could get any of your desired
jukes in restored or clean working condition.
Especially if you are going to pay someone else to sell them for you.
Here is what I would estimate that you would get if the boxes are semi-
clean and complete.

Rockola Super-Rocket (1434) $ 650.00
Rockola 1454 $ 750.00
Wurlitzer 1400 $ 700.00
Seeburg B $ 650.00
Seeburg Symphanola Classic $ 600.00
161 that is playing $1,200.00

and a NSM Consul $ 300.00

That only gives you $4850.00 to start with and I would assume that someone
will want at least 30% to haul and sell them for you at Chicagoland. That
leaves you with about $3,400.00. You can probably get a 1050 for that, but
not an 1100 or 1015. You'd probably be better off just offering an "all for
one" trade or to sell them all as a package to a seller who would pick them
up. Then you could shop with the cash.
Of course I could be off on my opinions of the prices. What do you other
guys think?
Good Luck!
Keith

The prices quoted seem rather low. If you are near a near a large
city, prices would be better. The prices I'm listing are from the 2005
Always Jukin Price Guide for a grade 3 machine, described as AS IS
GOOD, it is in need of normal work, may no longer work, but it has not
been abused. A complete machine that did work at one time. You might be
able to make a package deal with one of the big boys, like John Papa,
I'm sure he would take it on trade on a new Rock-ola Bubbler and you
should still get some money for CDs.
You could also run ads in the magazines, Always Jukin' and Jukebox
Collector. They go to many of the foreign buyers besides the US guys.
Here's the prices:
Rock-ola 1434 $975
Rock-ola 1454 $950
Wurlitzr 1400 $900
Seeburg B $1300
Seebirg Classis $900
Seeburg 161 $2300
NSM ????
This adds up to $7325 plus change for the NSM. On a package you usually
give at least a 10% discount. This still leaves you ahead on an 1100,
1050, or even a new Bubbler. Of course you would do better selling them
one at a time, but more time and hassle. Get one of the trade papers
(if you don't have, email me direct and I'll send you a back issue of
Always Jukin') and make some phone calls and run an ad. Get a fair
price, don't give them away unless they gonna foreclose on your home.
