Infamous Freedom Tower Silver Dollar - new virtual exhibit
I've received numerous inquires requesting inside information regarding
the "Freedom Tower Silver Dollar" coins and related items. That's because I had something to do with the creation of them, unfortunately. So rather than repeating my self over and over again, I've put together a virtual exhibit that illustrates the different issues (and there are more different varieties than most people are aware of). Freedom Tower Silver Dollars - virtual exhibit: http://www.designscomputed.com/coins/ftsd.html PS: I do not buy or sell these, except on occasion when trying to acquire one of each type or to dispose of duplicate samples. |

Thanks for posting this, David. You do some very attractive work, and you are to be commended for abruptly breaking fellowship with the NCM folks, assuming that there was something nefarious in their approach to marketing the coins... Amistad Their marketing was "nefarious" enough that New York attorney general Elliot Spitzer banned sales of the coins and hit them with a big fine. The issue was not the coin itself, but how it was marketed. The main issue was that NCM claimed it was "government-issue legal tender". They never stated it was US govenment issue, but the ads implied that. The other issue was that they marketed it as a pure silver dollar made from WTC recovery silver. But in reality, reading between the fine lines in the ads, it was apparent that a small sample of WTC silver was mixed with other silver, and then plated over a bronze cores to produce the pure silver [plated] dollars. Spitzer's office receive a lot of complaints about the ads, and that is why they took action. |

THe coin reveals a national secret. There is now a laser defense beam
linking the fiefdom tower with the statue of liberties still allowed after the patriot act. Should terrorists try to attack, this beam will knock the plane out of the air, like the story in Dr. Who. Torchwood New York owns fiefdom tower. dcarr wrote: Amistad wrote: "dcarr" shared some interesting info with the group: I've received numerous inquires requesting inside information regarding the "Freedom Tower Silver Dollar" coins and related items.
