These were charity stamps. Plenty of them around.

There is also a stamp inscrobed "Giro" . Is this similar to the Postal
Note stamps used by the US in the late 1940's - early 1950's ? Thanks
for your help.

Revenue stamp.

The Plan sur de Valencia stamps were postal tax stamps required on
all mail in the Valencia region from 1963 to 1985. The revenue was
used for flood control projects. You have (left to right) the 1971,
1968 and 1963 issues (Edifil 6, 5 and 1).

Plan Sur de Valencia are local tax stamps

Giro are Postal Savings

Both are listed in the Edifil catalogues.

Note to 'John O'Brien' - I tried to reply directly to you
but MS outlook reported that a program was trying to access my address book.
