PLEASE HELP .. I know this is a coin group but I think I need to end a
listing of mine. Maybe need to contact someone with knowledge of foreign
notes before listing these .. I think I already got bamboozled out of one of
them ..

Normally I sell tokens. Arcade, transit etc .. This is NOT the kind of
stuff I would list but it was part of a collection I bought. thought it was
junk and then someone wrote to tell me they were valuable.

I would really appreciate your input or maybe someone could tell me who I
should talk to about them.

I know very little about paper money, so I won't try to evaluate what you
have. However, buried in all the LOUD palaver of your listing, you advise
the readers, "YOU ARE THE NUMISMATISTS." Thus, I daresay that if you
consider yourself "bamboozled" out of anything, it happened via your
deference.

Thanks James for that .. I didn't wasn't expecting that I would have my
auction critiqued, but I should have know better [as a lurker I should know
what happens when you post here] I thought maybe someone here could give me
advice about what I listed and it's value. as usual, people who post here
are just sitting ducks for the ones who lay waiting for a chance to attack
... YES, I say "you are the numismatists" in my auction .. I collect chuck e
cheese, ok ?? sometimes I list a foreign coin or an old u.s. coin .. once I
had a coin sitting in a bucket of junk that I was actually going to throw
away .. It sold on ebay for almost 4k .. I don't pretend to NOT know coins
... I DO NOT KNOW !!! But if I have a 4k dollar auction that could possibly
sell for $400 because of my lack of knowledge, I would think that someone
might just be nice enough to say, yeah, maybe you should take it down and
relist it with a reserve. I am not on ebay to make a living .. I sell to
support my token habit .

I hear you there but don't let people who are filled with self hate ruin
your RCC experience. Ignore them, killfile them, or just laugh at their
sorry pathetic selves. You will find lots of good advice here from other
posters.

An item is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it, No
more, no less. Your item is already over $400 with plenty of time to
go. Seems to me you're doing OK.

Diane, or "whatever" your name is, do you really expect anyone to show
compassion after reading some of your feedback, wherein you call your
customers "jerk", "butthead", and "mental patient" and then suggest that
some of them drink to excess?

These are my thoughts. Let's say the person who wrote me and said they were
rare and valued at $475 each is correct .. Do I need to worry that all ten
will sell for $500 because I didn't have reserve ? .. maybe there is someone
among my 22 watchers that will snipe at the last second like the person did
with my large cent. [BELIEVE ME, I almost fell out of my chair when that
auction closed for nearly $4k ..] I wish I never got the email from the guy
that they were worth a lot of money .. Right now I would be jumping up and
down for $500 .. but who can't use $4k ?? if that is what they are worth ..
I thought of ending the auction and putting a reserve, but REALLY I would
not be too happy with myself if I did that. Do people do that ? Is it wrong
to do that ? That's the kind of advice I guess I am looking for.

I don't know about the majority of sellers on eBay, but I lose money all the
time when I start listings at 99c .. I accept it when it happens. I bought
a collection of civil war tokens and lost most of my investment .. I end up
with a hundred $$ a month fees for auctions that don't sell .. Last week I
sold a token for $150 that cost me nearly nothing .. but a few hundred
compared to a few thousand is just too crazy to ignore.

I guess I just don't want to look like a CREEP by taking it down and
relisting with a reserve and I want to know just how sleezy it would be to
do it .. ON THE OTHER HAND ..maybe the guy who said they were $475 each is
wrong .. am I making sense or just rambling ?? Maybe I should just call a
friend of mine that has a coin shop in town .. ask his opinion.

What do you expect? People buy your auction, see your terms, receive your
package EXACTLY AS LISTED and then complain about your terms ?? Even going
as far as leaving a negative ?? One guy I replied to left me a negative
because I charged him $3 for shipping with NO discount for combined shipping
... the auction he purchased sold for ONE CENT !!! I was already out 19c at
that point ... then he paid with paypal .. at least another 35c .. Postage
$.77 [ I get a delivery confirmation so I must pay for 2 ounces or a one
once OVERSIZED package. ] I don't know what the auction cost but am I not
entitled to make $1.50 for my time if nothing else ?? Otherwise I may as
well just throw an auction away rather than giving up my evenings and
weekends to list and scan and package and email and .. and ... and. ..
