Default wurlitzer 2300s selection problem

The following problem with my Wurlitzer 2300S: when the selection buttons
are pushed, they both block. Nothing else happens, there is no record
selected. The two resistors on the selectionboard get very hot.

When I pull the selection-pins inside the jukebox, it plays all the selected
records.
Anyone out there who can help?
Is there a site I can find more info?
Perhaps also a manual on how to repair this jukebox?
I am grateful for any suggestions.

Hi - My 2610 did that a couple years ago and I found that one of the switches
in the Play Rack (Credit Accmulator) had broken. You need to buy a manual and
study it for sequence of operation or you will never figure it out.

Get a manual from Victory Glass:www.victoryglass.com
As was said you'll need a manual to figure it out.

Howdy,

Sounds like one of the selection arm solenoids (they push out the selection
pins) has shorted windings. On each solenoid, check its "plunger" to see
that it moves freely- when a solenoid gets "cooked", often the inner coil
sleeve swells up around the plunger preventing it from pulling into the
solenoid. Unless this metal core gets drawn into the solenoid body (and
thus pushing out a selection pin), the inductive reactance of the coil will
remain low and it will draw a lot of current. Hope this helps, and Good
Luck!

It seems like anytime I have a selection problem on a 2300 series Wurlitzer,
the problem is always with the square molex connectors. Try reseating all
of those to make sure they are making a good connection. I have also seen
pins broken or pushed through the plug so that they don't make a good
connection.

I have a wurlitzer 2300s wich has an anoying loud hum when a record is
playing. The hum does not change in loudness when I turn up (or down) the
wolume of the amplifier. It is stil there when I pull out the first tubes of
the amplifier.
I suspected the capacitor on the power unit so i took ik out and tested the
thing, it seemed to be o.k.
I measured the frequency of the humming sound, it is 100 Hz. The power we
use overher is 50Hz (in NL), so I should think it is the 'ripple' on the DC
(280Volts?) that produces the humming sound, but I'm not sure about this.
Can it also be a faulty rectifier tube? Or anything else?

Can anyone give me a clou how to fix this?

Thank You for Your help.

Replace it anyway and any other electrolytics.

I will try the local electronic-parts-shop for replacements, I hope they have
(or can order) these things. I will write the results (after I have replaced
the capacitors) to this group.

Today I replaced the electrolytic capacitor (30+20+20+25mfd) on the power
unit by tree separate capacitors (the '25' was not connected) but the result
is no change to the problem.
Can someone give me any advice what to do (measure, test, exchange...) next?

Thanks,

Johan
