Default Free Press - First Edition of Book Club?

I've got a book called *Forgotten Heroes: Inspiring American Portraits From
Our Leading Historians.* The front cover says this is A Society of American
Historians Book. The publisher is The Free Press (a division of Simon &
Schuster). It looks like a first edition except for the lack of a price on
the jacket.

Normally I just assume anything without a price is a book club, however this
one just doesn't look or feel like a book club as to quality, and I know
that books from small publishers or academic presses occasionally lack the
price. I'm wondering if anyone knows about this particular book. I'd be
grateful if anyone could tell me either way.

Thanks
Alice
