Baaad buys
We read all the time about good buys stamp people have made. Some being
better than others. I would like to see who will "fess" up and tell about a really bad buy.. Back in 2001 I was working on a joint issue of China/Hong Kong/Macau. I bought the three stamps of the Emblem of 2008 Summer Olymipcs, Beijing with label attached. I paid less than $1 US for each one. All well and good until I decided that I would like to have the souvenir sheet because the label was different. Failing to do any homework I ordered the souvenir sheet from a dealer, $40.00 Had I done my home work I would have known this was a souvenir FOLDER...19 5/8 inches by 23 1/2 inches opened up. I got it and have no idea what to do with it. It is resting in the back of my closet with a uncut sheet of two dollar bills. Don't know what to with that either, ($36 from the US Treasury and about the same size.) Two weeks after I received the folder I attended a local stamp show aand a dealer had the souvenir sheet, $15.00. Ralphael, the OLD one |
