Default Filcao Forever: RIP

Well, the Filcao came unscrewed from its cap riding around clipped to
my pants pocket. Ink everywhere? No, because the nib bent all the way
over the feed, ruining the pen.

Dunno if I'm going to order another. I may go with the Monteverde
Intima instead... not as tiny or robust as the metal Forever, but the
capping system looks more secure.

So it's back to the Cross Ion for the immediate future while I mull my
options, which has spent the past two months attached to my keychain
without so much as a scratch to its bright blue anodized body. It may
be amusing to send the ruined Forever off to one of the custom
nibcrafters out there... someday, when there's more money in the
budget for toys.

The Forever's not a bad pen, a great writer and a head-turner, it's
just that it would probably be happier riding in a dayrunner or
checkbook holder than clipped to a pocket where it's contantly jostled
around.

The forever is back in my pocket, with more care taken not to
cross-thread the cap, thanks to Giovannis' exemplary service. Back in
my hands in less than a week, for a problem that that was really my
own fault.

The nib section on the original was anodized the same color blue as
the barrel, but the replacement is anodized black, like the endcap. I
sort of preffered the blue, but the black is very striking, and the
nib! It's a truly classic and elegant shape, and the new one writes as
well as the old one: smooth as melted butter on the Moleskine's paper.
Perfect flow, even if left uncapped for good while.

Highly reccomended.
