"Yes, Mary Kennedy, you try and fix things with the BIG boss!"

His search returned titles in block letters and those with subtitles. They make the extra 10. I conclude that this happened because I use a "strict" rule match from the options and Kris probably used a "loose" rule match. Francis A. Miniter I used the default of "strict", also. Title (no quotes) and author's last name. The results of a compilation site like addall.com are dependant upon the response time from each of the servers it's pulling data from. If one's too slow, it may sense "0 results" there. Right now, I get 57 listings (obviously some dupes because some sellers list the same book on multiple sites): Abebooks - 15 AbebooksUK - 5 Alibris - 13 Amazon - 1 AmazonCA -1 AmazonUK - 2 Antiqbook - 2 Biblio - 12 Bibliophile - 2 ILAB - 2 Choosebooks/ZVAB - 2 Kris (definitely a she) Oops. Sorry. Francis A. Miniter |

I'm married to a guy with one of those "could be either" names....and when I was getting Sears tool catalogs, he was getting Victoria's Secret catalogs. He was happy. Kris |

Kind of like Burr v. Hamilton, but in control top panties. Don't start till I make popcorn. |

I've noticed that on a fairly regular basis -- perhaps one search out of 40
or something like that -- ABE doesn't respond to addall inquiries in a timely manner (or to be quite accurate, I sometimes don't see any ABE listings; I don't actually know if ABE was really asked). When I see NO abebooks listings at all in an addall search, but a reasonable number of others, I just do the search again immediately and generally get the ABE listings on that try. It's no big deal. You have offered proof, so I hope that person involved is big enough to post an apology for misinforming others. You insufferable eejit, I just checked AddAll.com and there are *71* copies listed. In case you can't count that high yet, Palm-job, that's ten times seven plus one. Granted, a few of those are duplicates, but even so. I think Kris Baker had the thing right about it being a server problem. As I stated I DID make a correct search and came up with nothing, regarding the SOTI listings. Perhaps you can cease this whiny passive-aggressive crap and call me out by name next time, Shoe fit you all too well, eh? No, rather than resorting to the name-calling that troglodytes such as yourself clearly prefer, I favor the "smoke-'em-out-of- the-woods-and-then-hoist-'em--high- by-their-own-petards" approach. Glad to see it worked so well on you, Mr. Webster. assuming you have the stones. Which, on the evidence you've presented thus far in your less-than-illustrious "career," you very well may NOT. I'd call you a "poltroon," but it's such a silly word. |
