Wisconsin: xtra cheese, hold da mayo
I was loitering outside the public library today and decided to look at
the quarters in my pocket to pass the time. I saw a Wisconsin quarter, but the sunlight was too bright for me to tell any detail. So I put the quarters back into my pocket and thought about writing a story here about how I found a Wisconsin "extra chesse" die chip variety. Well, a bit later I was in the library and looked at my quarters again, and saw a little extra leaf. Then I went upstairs to look at the Numismatic News to check. Sure enough, a low leaf variety. Heh! I posted it on abpn. BTW - that is my second score of the day. Earlier I was at a convenience store and noticed the clerk had a strange coin sitting on the side of the cash register. I asked him, "What's that, a bimetallic?" He told me to take it. It was a 1996 Canadian twoonie! Then I left two cents change in the penny tray. |

This was found in Texas right? It seems they are all in that area. Just like they are finding those spiked Bisons in Texas. Maybe there's a serial engraver on the loose at the Denver mint? |

Yes, it was in Houston , but from the tip tray at the Starbucks in the downtown Hyatt (I had asked for parking meter change), which may mean it came from an out of town traveler. |
