I think you'll find WLM will have fairly long legs -- that is, it'll
be around for a while.

If you're concerned, though, you might consider making the full leap
to Microsoft Outlook (the 2010 version is the best yet), although it
lacks support for newsgroups. Or, go completely independent and use
Mozilla Thunderbird or Forte Agent. Both of the latter will also
accomodate newsgroup access in addition to email. I use Outlook 2010
for email, and Forte Agent 6.00 for newsgroups, and have been very
happy with the two for several years.
