Default Cut Squares

In connection with various discussions on 'cut squares' and if they are
still collectible, I thought that lot #1483 in the Shreves Collector's
Series Sale - April 12-14, 2007, would be of interest. Estimated at $US
15,000 it is currently at $5,250 (at the time of posting). Go here for
this and other cut squares -

No, I have no connection whatsoever with Shreves!

G'day John,
as an aside, I am currently reading the Australian Stamp News
on the Arthur Gray auction at Shreves.
Imprint block of 1pound Roos, $265,000... staggering.

G'day to you too Rod!
And also staggering was Lot#822 [one of two recorded covers bearing a £2
Kangaroo] that was offered to Rod Perry in 1990 for $750. He rejected it
as being too expensive. It sold for US$15,525. Rod writes that he
believes this item has a bright future. Anyone got some spare cash?!!

It finally sold for USD $8,500.00 - not bad for one cut square. 8*)
