Actually, the fact is that anything created that can be proven to be
made by a certain group IS copyrighted. Anyone who uses it illegally
(i.e., unauthorized duping for resale) can be sued to be made to stop
doing it. However, you have to send ~$20 to the U.S. Copyright Office
and a copy of whatever you want to register to be able to sue for
actual damages. I read up on all of this back when I started a website
and I made sure it wasn't going to cost me too much.
