The legend of auto 8-track sound...Pioneer silver face.
A few of my friends had these in their cars in the 1970's- they are
one awesome sounding 8-track deck and the best I ever heard for auto. Happy to see they still bring a nice price too. I bought one back in the day myself but not the radio version- and still have it. Anyone else fans of these Pioneer decks ?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll... STRK:MEWA:IT |

Yeah, I Loved those decks, the looks and the sound.
If you see another one in that good of shape post it ...that one went for 152 bucks! I like the dial tuner and knobs, probably says supertuner on it somewhere. I remember those top of the line Pioneer car systems and boomboxes as being astounding. |

so true- it wasn't the loudest car 8-track I ever heard, but it
certainly had the most fidelity. the true car stereo diehards would mate that supertuner with the Pioneer car Equalizer that would boost the signal a bit and give more tone control, then it actually sounded better than most home decks through 4 coax or triax speakers.... I remember the coax speakers giving better sound...mine was piped into 2 Craig powerplay top mounts angled forward on the back deck. |
