RHODESIA STAMP COLLECTIONS FOR SALE
RHODESIA STAMP COLLECTIONS FOR SALE
Even if you have no interest in buying this collection at this time – it is a MUST LOOK AT COLLECTION. I have a very special, very unique, very interesting, one of a kind collection of RHODESIA single stamps, multiple stamps (from pairs to a sheet of 36) and booklets that are all mint, never hinged. This collection was created by Mrs. W. Joffe of Johannesburg, South Africa. I have been told that before she passed away, she was a world famous philatelic expert in Rhodesia and South Africa stamps. Mrs. Joffe first exhibited her collection on December 9, 1980 at the Philatelic Society of Johannesburg. I have been told that she had subsequent private and public exhibitions of her collection in South Africa, Rhodesia, United Kingdom, Australia and the United States. The collection consists of one hundred and sixty-three (163) album pages of single stamps, plate blocks, large multiples, panes and booklets. The collection is based upon flaws, varieties, color changes, imprint blocks & cylinder blocks with offset, overprints, etc. It must be viewed in it’s entirety to understand the intricacy of the collection. I have scanned all of the pages and they can be viewed by going to the below URL: http://community.webshots.com/user/stamps1100 After getting to this web site, place your curser on “my shots/albums” and left click the word “albums” on the drop down menu. Then scroll down to “RHODESIA” and left click again. Click on any album page to enlarge the image. When I purchased this collection from Mrs. Joffe’s estate in 1992, I made three (3) commitments: 1. I would continue to exhibit the collection 2. I would not break-up the collection 3. I would sell the collection to someone who would continue to exhibit the collection, so that future generations of our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, might be able to enjoy viewing it. Even if you have no interest in buying this collection at this time – it is a MUST LOOK AT COLLECTION. If you have an interest in the RHODESIA collection or any other country’s collection (see list below), please contact me. I can send you a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet of any of the collections. My name is Larry Schenker and I am from Los Angeles, California in the United States. I want to start selling my stamp collection. I am a collector not a dealer. In the year 1942, when I was nine (9) years old, I started collecting stamps. My uncle used to give me $10 a month for the buying of stamps. He was a personal friend of the legendary Jacques Minkus, who owned the Stamp Concession at Gimbel’s Herald Square Department Store in New York City. Now it is 2006 and I am 73 years old. I have been collecting stamps, off and on, for over sixty-four (64) years. None of my children or grandchildren has any desire to collect stamps. A few years ago, I retired, sold my home and now live in Los Angeles, California, USA. I no longer have good eye sight or have the dexterity to handle these valuable stamps with my tweezers. It is time for me to start selling off my private collection. I want to sell individual stamps, sets or complete country collections. All of the stamps that I will be selling are from my private collection and to the best of my knowledge accurate in their descriptions. Below are several URL’s that contain pictures and information about my other country collections. I am in the process of scanning more and more of the collections and adding additional jpg files to the web sites. I am willing to sell any complete country collection – except Rhodesia (see list below) at 38% of the most current catalog prices. I am willing to sell most any single stamp or set of stamps at 47% of either the most current catalog prices. All sales are to be paid in US Dollars. The buyer is responsible for packing, shipping, insurance and customs duty. http://community.webshots.com/user/stamps1100 The above URL contains pictures of stamps from: Aden – A few high value stamps Antigua – A few high value stamps Ascension – An album of 14 pages Australia – An album of 9 pages Bermuda – An album of 7 pages British Honduras – An album of 1 page Burma – An album of 2 pages Canada – A few high value stamps Cape of Good Hope – An album of 1 page Cape Verde – A few high value stamps Cayman Islands - An album of 19 pages Falkland Islands - An album of 9 pages Montserrat - An album of 20 pages Natal – An album of 1 page New Zealand - An album of 5 page Orange Free State (Orange River Colony) – An album of 1 page Rhodesia – An album of over 163 pages Seychelles – An album of 29 pages Sierra Leone – An album of 11 pages Solomon Islands - – An album of 28 pages St. Kitts/Nevis – A few high value stamps and large sheets Swaziland – An album of 45 page Transvaal – An album of 1 page http://community.webshots.com/user/stamps1101 The above URL contains pictures of stamps from: German Assortment Hong Kong Assortment Spain Assortment United States Assortment Gambia - An album of 20 page http://community.webshots.com/user/stamps1102 The above URL contains pictures of stamps from: Aitutaki – A rare block of 15 mint stamps Australia – An album of 59 pages Australian Antarctic Territory – An album of 4 pages Christmas Island – An album of 13 pages Cocos (Keeling)Islands – An album of 6 pages New Britain – An album of 3 pages New Guinea – An album of 7 pages New South Wales – An album of 9 pages Norfolk Island – An album of 21 pages North West Pacific Islands – An album of 2 pages Papua New Guinea – An album of 42 pages Queensland – An album of 7 pages South Australia – An album of 9 pages Tasmania – An album of 5 pages Victoria – An album of 11 pages Western Australia – An album of 4 pages http://community.webshots.com/user/stamps1103 The above URL contains pictures of stamps from: Malta – An album of 64 pages http://community.webshots.com/user/stamps1104 The above URL contains pictures of stamps from: Great Britain – An album of 123 pages I also have collections that have not yet been scanned from: Alaquoites Austria Azores Bahamas Bahrain Barbados Basutoland Bechuanaland Protectorate Belgium Botswana British Bechuanaland British Solomon Islands Brunei Bulgaria Ceylon China Cyprus Dominica East Africa and Uganda Protectorates Federated Malay States France German East Africa Germany Gibraltar Gilbert & Elice Islands Gold Coast Hong Kong Honduras India Indian States Irish Free State Ireland Israel Italy Jamaica Japan Johore Kenya and Uganda Kuwait Leeward Islands Malaya Trengganu Mauritius Mexico Montserrat Natal New Britain New Guinea New Zealand Newfoundland Nigeria Nyasaland Protectorate Pakistan Palestine Republic of China Saar South Africa South Australia South West Africa Spain Straits Settlement Syrie Tanganyika In addition to posting your reply to this discussion group, can you please e-mail your reply directly to me?
