Roosevelt Dimes
Hey All,
As always, I'm trying to feed my newbie mind and asking advise from the board. This one is about Roosvelt Dimes. I dont see alot of hoop la about them, Most that I find are in great condition and avaliable until I get to about 1980 then.... Nothing. I am searching Bank Rolls, Probably the best way, but any advise will be better than none. "I hate seeing those pesky holes in my albums" |

"Chipper" dropped by to sound out the group with:

I recently helped my grandson gather up all of the Roosies from 1965 to 2005. I had some of the pre-64 silver coins as duplicates, so I gave him some of them so that he has just about all of them now. Are you indicating that you can't find those newer than about 1980, or do you mean the opposite of that? Amistad 'it's fun to be in the hunt!' |

The older pre-64 are hard to find. I keep searching rolls. Just another
exciting thing that my wife scoffs at now (actually a snicker and roll of the eyes). Just Kidding, I caught her searching her change the other day !!! |

Roosevelt Dimes
I completed a set of clad circulation strike Roosevelt dimes (1965-present)
from circulation a few years ago. It took about a year to do it but it can be done. I know they're out there because I recently rolled up that set and took it to the bank. The chances of finding silver coins in change is remote. So completing the set from 1946 to 1964 from circulation is nigh unto impossible. I tried to complete a set about 35 years ago when silver was more plentiful. I ended up buying the key dates liuke the 1949-S, 1955-PDS, etc. -- Richard My coin Links: http://coins.richlh.com/Coins/MyCoinLinks.htm "Chipper" wrote in message ups.com... "I hate seeing those pesky holes in my albums" If 1946-1964 are your interest and condition isn't important, dealer junk boxes are ripe for the pickings. There are some hard-to-find Roosies in that date range but nothing you could consider a key date. Same with Franklin halves. Jerry |

Jerry what roosies are hard to find? i bought 2 $100 bags last year and pulled 3 complete sets out without much work. same with franklins. Okay, bad choice of word, originally. I guess I should have said "harder to find." At 12.8 million the 1955 has the lowest mintage of circulated Roosevelt silver dimes, but could hardly be considered key. Jerry |
