Also, many thanks for all the help with the info and etc. I have 1 or 2 more similar machine stamps that I'll post next message, since there's been alot of research done on this. Barry |

Machine stamp questions

Hello Rodney. The mention of Pitney Bowes brought to mind a "discussion" Pierre Courtiade and I had about the various models that we had used when we were still working; Pierre at his Embassy and I at both my full time office in the Cdn. Fed. Gov. and at the Embassy where I was part-timing at the time - two different models. I can't remember how long ago that was (I don't keep copies of NG messages) and I don't even remember whether it was on this NG or on the French one. But I do recall quite a bit of detail bandied back and forth. Some help, eh? Well, if Pierre is around he can probably remember; being so much younger his memory is a lot better than mine. Hello Tony, It was in october 2007 : http://groups.google.fr/group/rec.co...+author:vella# -- All the best, Pierre Courtiade to answer me, please replace NOSPAM by my family name |

Hello Tony, It was in october 2007 : http://groups.google.fr/group/rec.co...+author:vella# Oui, Pierre, that is indeed the conversation I was thinking about. I never seem to have much luck searching Google for messages in groups. I never have problems with any other searches in Google; just groups. I must be doing something wrong. Thanks again. As part of the conversation I recall reading about the early days when the franking was set and one had to 'punch' the envelope any number of times to make up the required rate, but I have never seen an example. Or maybe I did and forgot about it. For as far back as I can remember, I have always had amnesia. Cheers. Tony Vella Ottawa, Ontario, Canada |
