All of a sudden, rec.collecting paper-money, rec.collecting.stamps.discuss
and rec.collecting.stamps.marketplace are full of porn postings. What is
going on?

Tony

I am getting nothing but the Stamp-related postings either!

David.

To all of you who have responded, thanks My newsgroup server is
library.airnews.com, and this is the first time that porn was received.
Today, there were none. I have Spybot, and it must have failed at a
particular moment.

Most likely Spybot, Adaware, etc., aren't going to do anything to block
off-topic postings in newsgroups.

Perhaps the best you can do when/if your ISP fails in this regard is
wait a while for the cancelbots to clean the group up.

I couldn't figure out how he was expecting SpyBot to help him with
this either. Maybe there's a hidden feature in there that does it?
Hmmm... Maybe I should look closer. :^) (Tongue in cheek, of
course)

On a serious note, the only way to stop porn spam is by filtering your
incoming e-mail UseNet service. The only problem with this is that
they morph so quickly that I wish you all the luck in the world
keeping up with the idjits.

While making my own album pages, I have reached an impasse
on how to deal with booklets. A booklet typically is made up of
two cardboard covers , possibly some panes with explanation
(no stamps) and one or more booklet panes. It seems to be
inconvenient to place the cardboard covers in an album, but
the catalog displays show images of these (see for example
Scott for Great Britain).
Should I explode each booklet and place in my albums only
the booklet panes or should I also include the cardboard covers
(as well as any other pane not containing stamps)?

Dang it. I'm not getting any porn in this newsgroup either. I'm going to
have to talk to my ISP about this problem. :-)

want to check your browser ?

takes about 3 minutes
all sorts of pop ups appear, just let it run

Check it online, here.

http://bcheck.scanit.be/bcheck/

If you're prompted to open anything or to permit something to run, decline the prompt.

Has nothing to do with a browser. Unless, of course, you're getting
your newsgroups through a browser. Not many people can get that... I
don't know anyone yet. I'd love to get my newsgroup stuff through a
browser - I'd be able to download binaries quicker. :^)

But these aren't pop ups - they're UseNet messages, just like this
one.

But of course, Watson! :^) This, of course, only deals with pop
ups. Like Spybot's Tea Timer.
