who REALLY knows California gold "Bears"...

Still looking for more info, but ..... I've rec'd too many differing
opinions
to know the straight story. Some say they're absolute slugs,
others say they're pure gold, but counterfeit in the fact that they
are not produced by the state of California.

I have two (dated 1999, and 2000) of these gold, 1oz coins, with the
"so-called"
California State seal on one side, and a bear & cub on the reverse, stamped
".9999 fine".
The "bear" sides are not identical.

There are a few of these presently at auction on Ebay from 1987, in 1/4,
1/2, and 1 oz
denominations. Approximately $475 for the 1 oz coin.

I'll probably take these to a jeweler and find out for sure about
their purity, so I can know for sure.
