Hi David,
Noticed you always have something "interesting" to say. Look at the difference between your site at http://website.lineone.net/~dvfrench/ and one that was designed professionally at http://www.stampclubs.com Would love to hear what you think. Hi Derek,
Here's my site: http://www.stamp-collecting.co.uk All my own work (and still in progress), but coming along nicely. That is a very nice site... No pop ups, simple and yet very effective layout.. well done! I have forwarded your link to a friend of mine who is a beginner at stamps, and also collects Diana Now back to what this thread was originally about... it was for designing websites in exchange for stamps. Anyone can do something themselves... but I know the original poster and she was more interested in getting dealers, clubs, etc... to get websites designed for them. It is possible that her message was not clear enough.... but I can not check that right now as it is no longer stored on my server. The person that responded to her original post had a very "interesting" way of replying... and I simply wanted him to see the difference between a professionally designed site which Duda (the original poster) helped to create, and the one that he created. In my opinion, if it is a personal site, you can do what you like. However, if you have people visiting your site for business, you should consider a nice "store front". Having said that, there are many excellent philatelic websites, both from collectors and from businesses too. I've seen many sites go from poor to wow, when the designers of the websites spending a little bit of time researching how to design websites effectively. Others have opted to pay someone to do this, and I hope there is nothing wrong with someone trying to make a living. I'm heading back to college soon to study design myself, and so one day I will depend on that too :-) Take care mate, and if you (or anyone else) needs any help with your website, feel free to leave me a message here, and I will pass on my contact details to you. Dinesh. |
