Thomas Alva Edition - Genius is one per cent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration...

Genius is one per cent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration... I speak without exaggeration when I say that I have constructed 3000 different theories in connection with the electric light...yet in only two cases did my experiments prove the truth of my theory. I always invent to obtain money to go on inventing... I find out what the world needs, then I go ahead and try to invent it. The three things that are essential to achievement are hard work, stick-to-it-evenness, and common sense... Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work... There seems to be no limit to which some men will go to avoid the labor of thinking... None of my inventions came about totally by accident; they came by hard work... I never did anything worth doing by accident... I never did a day's work in my life, it was all fun. www.worldofbiography.com |
