Default Swap Links with Collectors Website?

Hi,

Is there anyone that is interested in swapping links, you can visit my
website at http://www.proud-collector.com/ to see if it is a site you
would be interested in linking to. My links page can be reached by
clicking on "Links" found at the bottom of every page, and I will keep
them there as long as you want me to.

If you are interested, go to
http://www.proud-collector.com/contactus.aspx and let me know.

Thanks

Default Swap Links with Collectors Website?

Gasprey,
While I may enjoy showing off my modest collection to family and a
few friends, why would I want to advertise over the internet? It
seems like a great way for knowledgeable thieves to "go shopping"!
For most of us I admit that the odds are greatly against that
happening...but what if your "jewel" is worth the effort to track down?

With all of the personal information that is readily available on
the internet today, I have no desire to add to the databases.

Default Swap Links with Collectors Website?

I gave it some more thought and I would like to answer your question
more fully. It is clear from your email that you do not want to
participate in publishing your collection on my website, which I think
many collectors might agree with.

However, my site is only twelve days and I only started to heavily
promote it in the last five days. Within those five days I have seven
new collectors who signed up and some have already started posting
their pictures and comments. I don't know the reason why they did it,
but I can tell you why I did and why I think they did to.

I created the website out of personal tragedy that I wanted something
positive to come out of. I had several coin collections and stamp
collections that my wife and I intend to give to our son when he is old
enough to do with as he sees fit (it really belongs to him as far as we
are concerned). I have also been thinking about creating a website,
but didn't know what kind I wanted to make. I of course finally
realized that a collectors website might work and could be alot of fun.
I also had to create a name for the website, which was difficult
because alot of the names I though up were already taken. Then it
occurred to me that the website was about pride as a collector, hence
proud-collector.com. Not vanity, but pride in a collection that could
be shared with others (maybe that's why a painter paints).

There are some people who will not be interested in contributing and
others that will. It is not just a database, it is also a place to
comment and connect. People can add comments and hopefully get a
reply.

I can't answer the question about why you should contribute, I can only
answer the question as to why I should.

Thanks for your interest and your comments.
