Default Federal Reserve notes

Federal Reserve notes (started in 1913. Still in circulation)
Federal Reserve notes are printed to match the goods and services in the
economy. Federal Reserve notes are identical to United States notes
except that the banks get the Federal Reserve notes when they are
printed. Federal Reserve notes are not backed by silver or anything, but
rather, they "match" the amount of goods and services being bought and
sold each year. If more goods are services are made available, then more
Federal Reserve notes can be printed without causing inflation.

If the notes are both CU (Crisp Uncircuated), my estimate would be
around $40 for the $20 and $175 for the $100. These are ball park
figures, as there are many more factors to consider when pricing a
note. Tell your friend to keep his day job. :?)

Say what?!! Either you do not have a clue or are hoping to pick these
notes up on the cheap.

If they are really uncirculated figure a minimum of $150+ for the $20
and $600+ for the $100. Depending on which district issue the notes,
the price could be much higher.

However, even if the notes look as though they are new to you, doesn't
mean that an expert may not be able to detect slight folds which would
decrease the value considerably. Also, if the serial numbers are
followed by a star (*) instead of a letter (ei: "A"), the value may be
several multiples of the numbers qouted above.
