Default SEEBURG V & VL-200 / TSR1-3

Can a TSR-1 be exchanged to replace a TSR-3 in a SEEBURG V or VL-200.

or is a TSR1 made for a certain model of Jukebox?.

I exchanged and try with 2 diferent TSR-1 and it's not making any
selection!

anythoughts would be apreciated

Cheers
Roger

You can not simply exchange the early TSR units without out some
rewiring. As I recall the TSR-1 used 2D21 tubes, and the TSR-2 and later
used the 2050 tubes. Also the TSR-1 and possibly the TSR-2 had a
different scan count method - so if your unit does not have the scan
control pair of coils and ratchet (TSR-3? and later) then you need to
wire the older ratchet unit that is found at the rear of the mechanism
base (left side through access door) to take the place of this
step-up/down unit inside the subsequent TSR units.

Seeburg had a kit for this which was covered in my rather thick Seeburg
Engineers Manual (as I recall) but that is at the shop and I won't be
able to verify any of this until Tuesday when I get back - but perhaps
this has given you a few clues of what to look for!

Check the schematics of each unit you are trying to use to see how the
scan control works, this was the biggest difference...
