I'm grossed mindless!
I just received the April issue of Coin Values magazine packed with the
April 5 Coin World. A quick perusal of values given for early type coins shows that the price quotes for the draped bust/small eagle half dollar (1796-1797) have essentially DOUBLED since the last issue. I knew they were going up. A PCGS AG3 was making the rounds in St. Louis last month at over $20k and later showed up on eBay at close to $23k (it got no bids). Yeah, I know that there were only 3,918 of them made, but sheesh! Prices quoted for a "common" date/variety: AG 15k; G 25k; VG 30k; F 35k; VF 45k; EF 75k; AU 100k. -- "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts." - Bertrand Russell |
