Default Seeburg T needles

Can anyone tell me why these needles are sooooo expensive? The older
mono needles and the later wedge stereo needles are sooo much cheaper.
I could see it if the T's were only used on a couple of models, but
they were used in 4-5 models. Thanks, Rick.
