I misplaced the relevant Linn's. Does anyone know whether the American
Scientists' First Day cancel is a traditional four-bar, or whether it's
pictorial? *Dimensions* of the cancel as well would be brilliant. As
you can see, I'm running *very* late on my servicing, and have only until
5 May to submit (http://www.usps.com/cpim/ftp/bulletin/2008/pb22225.pdf).

I don't have dimensions, but here is a picture of the FDC.

Perhaps you can figure it out based on relative size of the stamp.

On the Gerty Cori stamp, there is a small error in a chemical formula.
Cori discovered cori ester, a derivative of glucose. The formula for
the
chemical is shown on the stamp. The error is in the placement of a
line in the formula and does not create a new chemical.

The error was discovered by Chemical & Engineering News, which
published an image of the stamp, and was first reported by Linn's
Stamp News.

Thank you. Based on the picture and my work in an image program, the
cancel is 1.74x the stamp's width and 1.53x the stamp's height

Tragic. More tragic that the USPS is doing *nothing* about it, unlike
Canada Post when it recalled the lighthouses. Aren't they supposed to
have good fact-checkers now?

On the USPS technical information, it states the stamps as 39.6mm x
24.9mm. That means the cancel is 69mm x 38mm (2.7" x 1.5").

Thanks!
