dear Dave,

what kind of information would you like to see?

Most of the Post Office data about the production of stamps
is available though never published. I gave away that data some
10 years ago to a few interested philatelists. I may find the time
to make HTML-files someday.....

groetjes, Rein

G'day dave,
I have the "Nederlandsche Speciale Catalogus"
which seems quite comprehensive, providing
one can translate.

It's possible. A little common sense and comparison with Scott gives you
enough "working Dutch" to fumble through; and the tougher parts, I've
cultivated a friend who's willing to give me occasional translations in
exchange for serving as his occasional auction broker.

The NVPH is THE specialized catalogue for most normal aspects of Dutch
philately, including the former colonies. After that, probably a
membership in a specialty club, such as ASNP, would be a good move, or
making acquaintance with a member/2/3.

One of the things I've wondered about is the name of and where I can
purchase a copy of the Indonesian catalog (printed in Indonesia). All I can
remember is it begins with "P". Indonesian language presents no problem as
my wife is (or was) Indonesian. Then I'd wonder if that catalog includes
Netherlands Indies (logically it would) and any other related stamps/labels
(Maluku Selatan, e.g.).
Dutch wouldn't be an insurmountable problem, but I get along quite
well with the Sakura catalog of Japan. Bottom line is more and more
detailed information than Scott provides which is why I use Sakura, NC Yang,
and Stanley Gibbons for those particular areas.
