Default Paper Coin Wrapper History??

Does anyone know the history of paper coin wrappers? When was the paper bank
roll invented? I've seen patent dates on some rolls of 1915. I've also heard
that the original issue of 1909 cents were in bags, not rolls, as the paper
roll had not been invented yet. Can anyone share their knowledge on this or
point me to a reference that discusses it? Thanks...Ray
