Great story.

The only other one that leaps to mind is Tom Wolfe's AMBUSH AT FT. BRAGG.
First published in ROLLING STONE (as was BONFIRE OF THE VANITIES, which I
read in its original serialized form, when Sherman McCoy was a novelist and
not a broker), its first separate "publication" was as an audio book.

I just finished Wolfe's HOOKING UP, which includes AMBUSH in its first
printed book form.
