Tonearm tracking (or skipping) is a function of tracking force, movement of the tonearm spindle in its base, and (sometimes) binding of the tonearm cable. I have seen a tonearm cable routed so that the tracking was affected. Make sure the spindle is clean and lightly lubed. You will need a gram scale to set the tonearm tracking force via the spring located on the underside of the tonearm.

Is your cancel switch missing or does it need to be adjusted?

Respectfully,

David

Back in the day, we purchased those scales from the old Wico Corp. of Chicago. I am not sure who would carry them, but you might try searching for turntable repair items as related to old home phonographs.

Try burnishing the contacts of the cancel switch. "Contact Cleaner" in an aerosol can will not always do the job properly. Burnishing tools are available through many local electronic repair parts shops or try Googling for GC Electronics. They make the last ones that I bought.

Depending on your selection of records on the juke, you may also have problems with the cutoff groove on some small-time record company's products. We saw this with some of the "promotional" records.

Respectfully,

David
