Azerbaijan to Issue New AZN 200 Banknotes

This isn't really "news," as I reported on this months ago:

"On June 8, 2007, APA-Economics reported that Elman Rustamov, chair of the
board of the National Bank of Azerbaijan, announced the bank would issue a
new 200-manat (US$233) banknote (currently the highest denomination is the
100-manat note), as well as another undisclosed denomination. Furthermore,
he revealed that the 1- and 5-manat notes dated 2005 and issued on January
1, 2006, would be replaced by coins."

Interesting. Today.Az announced the new 200 Manat banknote on their
Feb. 11, 2008 issue. Apparently not a new news. I missed your earlier
report though.

Well, the story you cite probably is based upon a new interview with the
bank, but the 200-manat note has been reported previously.
