I was thinking of getting a cd juke for a local youth center for them to
play their cds on so they quit fighting over the stereo which (used) model/brand will hold up the abuse from teens I am a seeburg fan myself with vinyl you input appreciated Jim W |

Jukes of the Cd variety
Quick answer to your question is none. A Rock-ola or Rowe upright can
be moved around, which can lead to damage and abuse. The strongest cabnets made were the NSM Wallmounts. THeu were used as a gambling machine in Germany and are too heavy for one person to lift off the wall. This might be ideal. You could install a couple of ceiling speakers, wallmounts don't have their own, that the kids couldn't get to. This also allows to spread the sound through the room if you care to. NSM circuit boards and amps are pretty reliable. Problems are with the Phillips CD players, which all jukes except old Seeburg use, and the title strip holders. Title pages MUST be installed correctly or they will jam. Another advantage of a wall mount is that it doesn't take up floor space and can be installed in odd spaces. Most important, if you can't repair it yurself, buy a machine that you can get suport for, hopefully locally. Charlie. |
