Questions for the Experts Here
Hi:
New to this group. My wife is interested in collecting paper money, from around the world. I'd like to get her set up in the hobby for her birthday. I'd like to know: 1. What books she'll need? 2. How should she store her collection for optimal enjoyment? I read that Littleton makes an album for displaying paper money, whats the consensus on it? Any suggestions are welcome. I read you should start off collecting what appeals to you, etc. so I thought I'd look around Ebay for some notes that look nice. Thanks, Chris |

I presume you will want to start her off with low value world notes.
There are always job lots of assorted world notes listed on ebay. I'm sure she would enjoy sifting through those. If she is interested for example in animals she could concentrate on animal notes or whatever takes her fancy, people, buildings etc. The cost of albums may exceed the value of low value notes, second hand albums or general albums, photo ones may suit, would be cheaper. The "Pick" catalogues are expensive for a beginner so again second hand older editions will be cheaper. Be wary of buying expensive notes or "high grade" notes off ebay until you have some experience or ask for guidance here before bidding. Some sellers of notes on ebay should be avoided like the plague. If you are wondering which country has a history of issuing the greatest variety of the most attractive notes over the last 100 years it's Scotland. :-) Please do not start collecting them.
