(Yawn) Thanks for turning on the light .

Usenet *is* really quiet lately!

What??? Can't hear you! Speak up, boy!

Just another "ping" on the newsgroup.

Anyone else having trouble with the Fountain Pen Network's site?

Just tried it, works OK. I'm not a regular visitor, though - hate web
forum interfaces.

Troubles, troubles. Looks like my ISP's server isn't passing on new
posts -- I just found my message and your reply by checking Google
Groups.

Something happened to FPN a week and a half, or so, ago. I've seen
some complaints about slow and uncertain access, which I also have,
but in addition I'm getting almost no graphics, from icons to posted
pictures (and I can't attach any to posts -- there doesn't even seem
to be the option). The pages, as they crawl in, are incomplete
skeletons of text and alternate text in both IE and Firefox.

Using Firefox here. I seem to get graphics all right. I see
pictures people have posted underneath their usernames. Last post
under "The Fountain Pen Network General Pen Topics Writing
Instruments" is from Lloyd and says "Today, 4:13 pm" but no date
(Post #2091). I also see some pictures in posts on other pages.

I can't try attaching anything to a post, because I'm not
registered.

I wonder what the difference is? Some people have complained on the
board, e.g. it's very slow, or sometimes they can't get on at all, and
other people apparently are rolling along as usual. It must be
something local to one's computer.

"BillTheEditor" advised that if you're having trouble with the site,
just write a letter :-? . Personally, I like Usenet, but everyone
seems to have ditched it for FPN (and since a recent Usenet "upgrade"
-- 07/31 -- I've gotten no new ACPP posts. I really don't like this
Google Groups interface.). Bah, I say!
