1917 Scottish square £1
A bit rough on the back but it sold for £185, the seller must have been
very happy. It may have spent a long time folded inside a wallet that has protected the front. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=3973502355 A few more prices as high as this one and I suspect that collectors may be tempted to cash in by listing a few. Billy |

I have more square £1 notes of the Royal Bank than of any other Scottish
bank and as this one was not particularly nice I wasn't all that keen to get it. I still would have had it if "cheap" of course.
