Default Rowe / AMi MM-4 Amp Help

Hello all,

Anyone have any suggestions of where I could send my amp for a tube
amp / solid state preamp rebuild? The left channel on my MM-4 is so
low it can only barely be heard.

It's a 1970 Rowe/AMi MM4 juke.

Thanks for any info.
Tom

I would mark down the tube numbers, and replace them all. If you have only
one bad tube and you replace just that one, it would bring the other ones
down fast. Whenever I have to replace tubes, I replace them all at once.
They can still be bought on-line.

Actually I must disagree with this advice. Tubes have no effect on each
other in amplifiers as they are isolated electrically from each other by
capacitors or interstage transformers (1930s). In older amplifiers it is
FAR more likely that you have defective capacitors followed by failing
resistors over a run of bad tubes.

Unless you are prepared to test each resistor and replace all the
capacitors from a tube amplifier you will not have fixed it even if you
replace all the tubes (pointless waste of money in my experience). In
fact you may age replacement tubes beyond recovery if the amplifier
components are not brought up to spec. Vern Tisdale sells
capacitor/resistor kits for many amps as I recall...

We rebuild amplifiers here in Canada by the way - you just have to get
it to us!
