Default Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics Overprint

Canada Post released an overprint noting the winning by Vancouver, BC of the
2010 Winter Olympics, reading "Vancouver/2010", on its 48c Flag over Canada
Post Building stamp (and on the booklet pane cover of 10/30) today (Fri, Jul
11, 2003).

I'll be posting an image later today on my website (www.adminware.ca) and on
The RPSC website (www.rpsc.org) for those interested in seeing it.

I've heard that only 3,000,000 stamps (in booklets of 30) were overprinted.

Probably they were so under pressure, that they have forgotten the Olympic
circles (or they haven't the time to ask for the permission of use).

IMHO, 3 million pieces is not so bad, especially for such a "zero costs for
designing" stamp.

I wonder if these overprints can be bought separately or only in booklets of
30 (14.40 Cn$ each only).

7,000 booklets of 10 are being made available to collectors
through Canada Post's National Philatelic Centre in Antigonish, Nova Scotia
[notice that you cannot order booklets of 30 from the Philatelic Centre].

Any idea what the order number is or is it safe that they will know it
already?

Dave
Use commemorative stamps on ALL your mail.
Introduce the hobby of collecting stamps to someone.
Above all, enjoy your hobby regardless of what you collect!

Sorry, I don't know the Canada Post product order number. By now, Antigonish
should know what is happening with this item if you were to simply ask for
the "Vancouver overprint".
