Default Machin album cover image recommendation

Dear friends,
I am making my personal Machin stamp album and would like to place a
representative image of its contents on the cover. I would like to hear some
proposals from you so I'd be able to create a beautiful album cover. Any
ideas are welcome. If possible, I'd appreciate also if you could provide
links to public domain images, or not so public domain but that they could
serve as an inspiration.

Thanking you all in advance,
Pedro

Greetings Pedro.
My suggestion for making a Maching album cover is to make a collage of
Machin stamps.
You could line them up like soldiers, slightly overlapping a bit.
You could do the same thing but rather than all in a row place the
askew.
Personally, I like the collage idea but in the end it will have to be
what ever pleases you.
Take some used Machins, dump them on a big table, use a piece of paper
the size of the album cover as a template.
Play with it, have some fun and let me know what you end up with.

Good Idea, Thank you very much Ralph. I will have to see how many used
machins I have for the composition, although I think most of them are "on
paper". Perhaps using them on paper in a way that paper borders are not seen
could be ok too, I think. I will try to compose them on my scanner and let
you all know the result.
Any more suggestions please?

Of course you could bid on the fourth, recently found, cast ...
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/theroyalfamily/2674511/Arn...
and use it as the actual 'cover'!

It was auctioned in 2008. Does anyone know how much it realized at
auction?

What about a photo/image of the Machin bust?
http://www.thepotteries.org/did_you/machin/cast.jpg

You could use a graphics program to crop it in an oval with softened
edges.

That's a fine idea too. I am planning indeed to make 2 other albums more.
One for my 8 years old nephew, and another one for a friend. I like very
much Ralph's proposal and yours, and at this time, I don't know which one to
get for mine.

Nice background. Images could be downloaded and with patient a collage could
be composed with the help of a graphics program, but perhaps too much effort
is needed. I think I will use the composition I made with the scanner and
make a no-margins printing with some text overlapped.

Thank you vey much for your help.

Both ideas are fine. I personally like the Machin bust better. Of course
it's YOUR album, Pedro, so you get to decide.

I've finally made 2 albums, each one with each idea, and they both look
sensational. Thank you very much all for your support.
